Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment

Dear Group Members,

I want to share my article with you. This is about the link between Mind and Social / Environmental-Issues. The article would be of interest to members of VanVeg Forum since it is directly related to protection of Animals. The fast-paced, consumerist lifestyle of Industrial Society is causing exponential rise in psychological problems besides destroying the environment. All issues are interlinked. Our Minds cannot be peaceful when attention-spans are down to nanoseconds, microseconds and milliseconds. Our Minds cannot be peaceful if we destroy Nature.

EXOTIC ANIMALS ON DISPLAY AT WHISTLERS' BEARFOOT BISTRO NOV 11/05

Mayor and Council
Resort Municipality of Whistler
4325 Blackcomb Way,
Whistler, BC, VON 1B4

Dear Mr. Mayor & Town Council,

I was saddened and disturbed to recently hear about an event being held at Whistler's Bearfoot Bistro. They are hosting an extravagant party called After Party MasqueRave this coming Friday, November 11, 2005.

On display, they will have live tigers from Siberian Magic, a group which claims to be doing endangered species 'education'. This hypocritical message is the trademark of the charlatan conservationist. Unfortunately, people are influenced by these glorified "pet" owners, whose actions, despite what they say, encourage the private ownership of exotic animals.

new generation pressure cookers

Posted in General Discussion by greenveg on October 18, 2005 - 2:55pm

I've been dabbling in vegetarian cooking and recently bought a pressure cooker online from Fastcooking.ca. It's a new generation pressure cooker, and I've found that it's fantastic for rice, legumes and vegetables. I've also been able to try some great recipes for veg soups, stews, pasta sauces, etc. that I hadn't tried before. Any pressure cooker recipes to share?
